US Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command is Hiring a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (OA) Near Honolulu, HI

Duties

  • You will assist in the onboarding, in processing and orientation of new employees.
  • You will coordinate and schedule logistics support for teleconferences, conferences, and meetings.
  • You will order supplies and materials and ensure inventories are maintained.
  • You will review and correct outgoing correspondence.
  • You will serve as the face to the customer for all HRO Visitors.
  • You will provide visitors with support and assistance for all administrative matters.
  • You will maintain a list of all HRO taskers, tracking completion and following up with action officers when needed.
  • You will assist in the development of briefings, spreadsheets, charts, graphs, point papers and reports.

Qualifications

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ordering supplies and ensures materials and supply inventories are maintained; 2) Producing a variety of correspondence, reports, and charts, with responsibility for correct format, spelling, grammar, etc.; and 3) Obtaining personnel records, providing information to customers.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

This announcement uses the Defense Industrial Base, Major Range and Test Facilities direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is primarily sedentary. The work may also require walking, standing and bending in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite. May carry small/light office items, as required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Occasional exposure to uncomfortable conditions in production shops and other industrial operations may be required.
